  • Trip advisor/ August 2023 - “Magical Chez Broche”
    What a beautiful and magical place Chez Broche is. The house exceeded our expectations. The grounds, lake and pool a paradise for children and for any keen fishermen in the party. We had every facility we could possibly need. The kitchen was very well equipped, the dining room comfortably big enough for our party of ten with room for more. The bedrooms are comfortable, sparkling clean and spacious and the four bathrooms meant that each family group could have their own. Stuart and Linda are amazing and attentive hosts. The fact that they are nearby means that any issues are swiftly dealt with. They also provided us with a delicious pizza night serving up scrumptious homemade pizzas. The house is within easy reach of pretty villages, lovely lake beaches and the small town of La Rochefoucauld with its restaurants, chateau and hypermarket. All in all a perfect place to holiday especially for large family groups like ours.”

  • Nous avons passés une semaine CHEZ BROCHE à 12 (6 adultes et 6 enfants) en juillet dernier et c'était vraiment génial! Dès notre arrivée nous nous sommes sentis bien: grands espaces extérieurs et intérieurs, possibilité d'être tous ensemble mais aussi de laisser les enfants jouer entre eux en toute sécurité puisque tout est clôturé (l'accès à la piscine se fait par un portail fermé à clé). Il y a même des systèmes de sécurité aux fenêtres de l'étage! Nous avons fait quelques visites aux alentours mais si la météo avait été avec nous, nous aurions pu rester CHEZ BROCHE toute la semaine sans bouger, juste à profiter du jardin, de la piscine et de l'étang. Et que dire de la gentillesse et de l'hospitalité de nos hôtes! Stuart et Linda sont vraiment adorables, disponibles. Nous avons partagé avec eux un super moment de convivialité lors de la soirée pizzas (qui étaient toutes délicieuses)!!
    Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir passer un séjour CHEZ BROCHE! A très bientôt!

  • having just returned from a week at Chez Broche with some friends I felt compelled to write a review.
    The house and grounds are amazing with so much to do. we didn't ever need to leave, except for supplies. The house is so well equipped you didn't want for anything.

    Stuart and Linda are fantastic, amazingly helpfull and friendly. their pizza night is well worth it.
    The house is tucked right off the beaten track, its so peacefull having lunch by the lake.

  • Airbnb / July 2023 - “Thank you Stuart and Linda for an incredible stay. The house is beautiful and set within the most beautiful surroundings. The lake is great fun for all the family, my 1 year old son and my father in law both enjoyed fishing on the lake and trying out the boat! The location was really private but just a short drive to lovely restaurants, shops, markets etc. The house has great facilities all round, lawn games, pool floats, Stuart and Linda have literally thought of everything that you might need on your holiday. We will definitely be returning - thanks you both so much for everything.”

  • We have just returned from a 2 week family holiday 10 people 6 adults and 4 children
    The house is fantastic so much space and well equipped there is a games room but my grand kids never really used it as the weather was so good
    Lots of space outside lovely pool and lake
    Great Resturants Chez Steph a definite great location
    The owners Linda and Stuart are so welcoming and even hosted one of there Pizza nights wow what a great night
    Definitely recommend and would love to go back thank you Linda and Stuart

  • Fabulous farmhouse with excellent facilities, it has everything you could ask for both in the house and outside, we mainly used the outside as the weather was great, but the inside would be perfect when the weathers not so good with log burners for the cooler times. Everywhere was spotlessly clean for our arrival and we were greeted by Stuart and Linda (the owners, very lovely couple) they showed us around and answered any questions. There was a welcome basket with really nice products to help us settle in too.
    The pool is a great bonus, I think we used this every day of our two week holiday, the children loved it (especially my 3 yr old granddaughter) the pool is maintained every day by Stuart early in the morning, with no intrusion to guests.
    The lake is great for those who like a bit of fishing, it’s very quiet and peaceful down there, some of our party did a lot of fishing, so it was ideal for them and they throughly enjoyed it and caught quite a few fish.
    Both Stuart and Linda were on hand to help us with choices for supermarkets, restaurants, days out and anything else we needed, they were never intrusive but are always there if you need them, they live in a separate building down the drive from the main farmhouse. I must say we had Pizza on our fist evening (and another evening too) cooked fresh by Stuart and Linda, which was fabulous, the Pizzas were delicious, some of the best we have all tasted.
    We all had a fantastic time at Chez Broche and would recommend your lovely farmhouse to anyone for a fabulous peaceful holiday, a great place to chill out.

  • + The property has been refurbished to an exceptionally high standard, blending the traditional style with lots of exposed beams with a modern, tasteful decoration which could not be faulted. The suite was a very generous size and the photos do not do it justice. The quality of the towels and linens were very high. Guests have access to the large outdoor area surrounding the B&B, which includes their own lake, and there are lots of areas to relax and enjoy the weather. The hosts, Stuart & Linda, were fantastic in their role and gave us a very warm & friendly greeting and made sure everything was as we wanted. The evening meal prepared by them was superb and incredibly good value, whilst breakfast was huge with plenty of variety and all good quality ingredients. This is an exceptionally good B&B with superb hosts, stay here and you will not be disappointed.
    - Nothing, it was as close to perfection as I have experienced in over 40 years of travelling around the world.

  • Dès les premières minutes nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous, les propriétaires nous ont Accueilli avec un petit panier pleins de bonnes choses. Concernant le lieu un bonheur pour les yeux, nous étions 7 adultes 5 enfants et un bébé et nous avons passé une semaine formidable dans se gîte magnifique et atypique. L'intérieur et l'extérieur de la maison sont sécurisés et les enfants ont pu gambader sans restriction. Il y vraiment tout pour passer une semaine agréable pas besoin de s'encombrer. Il y a tellement d'activité a faire a moins d'une heure (poney. Zoo. Accrobranche. Bateau et plein s d autres...). Nous repartons apaisé, détendu et remplie de souvenirs. Linda et Stuart sont charmant et très disponible tout en étant très discret. Si vous cherchez un havre de paix allez-y sans hésiter. Merci pour tout nous reviendrons c'est sûr.

    From the first minutes we felt at home, the owners welcomed us with a small basket full of good things. Regarding the place a happiness for the eyes, we were 7 adults 5 children and a baby and we spent a great week in beautiful and atypical cottage. The inside and outside of the house are secure and the children were able to frolic without restriction. There is really everything to spend a pleasant week no need to clutter. There is so much activity to do less than an hour away (pony. Zoo. Tree climbing. Boat and many others...). We leave soothed, relaxed and filled with memories. Linda and Stuart are lovely and very available while being very discreet. If you are looking for a haven of peace go there without hesitation. Thank you for everything we will come back for sure.

  • We spent a very good week « chez Broche ». Linda and Stuart are super guests, very careful, and very kind. The house is very well equipped, confortable and spacious. Very adapted for a big family with 5 kids and 2 couples and a single. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool (when weather was good ;-)) and the baby foot and video games. And we had great time outside with the barbecue and the outdoor games. Thank you Linda and Stuart for all your dedication and your little attention ! We highly recommend this place !

  • “Nous étions 7 adultes, 3 enfants et 2 chiens de petite taille et avons tous adorés passer une semaine chez Broches. La maison est grande, fonctionnelle, magnifique et parfaitement entretenue. Il y a tout ce qu’il faut et tellement plus : une cuisine de chef, un salon confortable, une salle de jeu, une buanderie, une chambre et salle de bain familiale, des salles de douche/toilettes pour tout le monde... la piscine est sécurisée et le jardin est parfait pour que les chiens puissent y passer du temps sans s’enfuir et faire de bêtises. Stuart et Linda sont très réactifs et disponibles et les attentions d’accueil font très plaisir. Idéal pour des vacances à plusieurs en été comme en hiver !”

  • WOW! Absolutely amazing place. It looked amazing online before we arrived and lived up to expectations. Stuart and Linda were amazing hosts and feel would have done anything for us. The welcome pack was extremely generous and was a lovely touch. House is perfect. It's clean, spacious and lots of character with the beams throughout. You have everything you need there and is heavily equipped throughout. The grounds are lovely and plentiful although didn't venture out much as chilled by the pool. Local bread shop and Spa 6 minutes away. It's near enough to go places if you want but placed perfectly in the countryside. Lots of wildlife and quiet time to relax. Couldn't fault this place at all and would 100% look at coming back again. There were 6 of us but the size of the property could host two families comfortably without stepping on each others toes. Would have stayed another week but was booked but lucky enough to get it for our week.

  • Chez Broche is a beautiful house set in acres of woodland. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The hosts Linda and Stuart are great hosts, and provide lovely home cooked meals if required. Great place for families and couples. Would definitely recommend and I will be back to explore more in the summer.

  • An attractively styled property (sympathetically modernised) in a good, visually appealing rural setting - peace, quiet and a lake to view. Welcoming, friendly but not intrusive, host couple - a real delight at the end of a long day. A very comfortable and spotless room - high quality bed and linen. Perfect (early morning) breakfast - "proper" fresh coffee and pastries- gets the days work off to a good start. Wish I could have stayed a bit longer to relax and explore.

    Wonderful accommodation within easy reach of interesting places to visit including Cognac.
    Linda & Stuart the owners were exceptional Hosts from the moment we arrived offering a Welcome Drink and their knowledge of the Area.
    The Rooms were spotless and beautifully decorated with luxurious bedding & toiletries' supplied.
    The Continental Breakfast had a large & tasty variety off choice.
    Will definitley return again.

  • Set in beautiful countryside the large grounds include its own private lake and pool. Their own facilities, and other local lakes and facilities provide plenty of opportunity for walking and water sports etc. There are also some lovely local towns and places of interest. The accommodation is excellent. Chez Broche has been thoughtfully and beautifully restored by its owners Stuart & Linda, who are friendly, helpful and excellent hosts, making us feel very welcome. This very comfortable property has maintained its traditional feel whilst accommodating all modern facilities and a luxury feel, even down to offering choice of hard or soft pillows. We will definitely be returning.

  • Thank you so much for our wonderful stay! The house has everything you could think of and has been beautifully and lovingly restored. We were made so welcome, with Linda picking us up from the airport and greeting us with an incredible welcome basket full of goodies. The house itself is in a gorgeous rural location with loads to do, but you needn't leave as the pool and lake are amazing themselves! We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more, from the delicious restaurant recommendations to the top quality beds. Linda and Stuart are a great couple and exceptional hosts. The hard work that has gone into Chez Broche is undeniable and we would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you so much - the only thing we would change is that we had to leave!

  • "Absolutely Fabulous !!! *****"

    Where do I start! When we arrived at Chez Broche we were greeted by Linda and Stuart, very welcoming after a very long journey! They showed us around the property, then offered us a cold drink whilst explaining where everything was and how things worked. They had left a beautiful welcome basket that had delicious artisan buiscuits cheeses, fresh bread, wine and even treats for the dog!!

    The property and grounds were absolutely beautiful, lovely touches all over the house and everything was of a very high quality. The bedrooms were a great size, especially the Tower Suite, two bedrooms having fantastic en-suite, the Tower Suite having both a shower and a beautiful free standing roll top bath which is just pure luxery! The further three bedrooms were serviced by two bathrooms one with a shower, one with a bath which was perfect! All the beds were comfortable and the rooms were beautifully furnished individual bespoke peices of furniture (which I would have loved to have brought home!). The rest of the house was the same, spacious beautiful areas with lovely furniture, you can tell that a lot love and thought went into putting the house together. The kitchen was the best of all!! we were a group of ten, ranging from 17 to 55 and the kitchen is equipped to more than cater for this. Not only is there everything you could want in a kitchen, everything is of high quality, definately what you would expect in a five star property, which Chez Broche easily commands. The outside again is second to none, the patio area spacious and more than adequately furnished, the pool area was beautiful, and then the lake with the little boat which our party had much fun in. Linda and Stuart are amazing people, whose sole goal is to make sure that their guests needs are catered for and they did this for us above and beyond what was expected. My son unfortunately got an ear infection so Linda who is a Nurse , was over in minutes to check him over and advise where to go for medicines etc. and Stuart showed us the way on the map. France has very limited hours of shops open on a Sunday, so Linda and Stuart came over to see if we needed anything, and when we did forget coke they promptly brought some from their house for us!! Amazing!! I could go on further about beautiful everything was and how truly amazing Linda and Stuart were as hosts! I would not hesitate to book Chez Broche again and would highly recommend it as a fabulous place to stay, I really felt that I got more than value for my money. I really hope that we do revisit to enjoy the wonderful property and the company of Linda and Stuart in the future.

    "I just returned home after 10 days at Chez Brooche. The villa is amazing, just like Stuart and Linda. The villa has been beautifully appointed but has also retained some original features. There is so much space inside and outside the villa and lots of places to explore in the surrounding area. I would definitely recommend a visit! Thank you for receiving us."

  • "AMAZING PROPERTY"

    "If you have booked Chez Broche you are in for a treat! We have just returned home after 2 weeks of bliss. We were a group of 3 families (6 adults and 7 kids). There was ample space for us all, and all rooms are generous in size (bedrooms are larger than they look in the photos).The property is beautiful and has been lovingly restored by Linda and Stuart. They have thought about every little detail that makes a holiday stay comfortable, there are 2 different type of pillows on each bed, fine quality bedding, a kitchen with every utensil imaginable and wine glasses for every occasion. Down by the pool there is a selection of outdoor toys for children and even picnic blankets for a day out.

    As hosts Linda and Stuart are warm, sociable and super helpful. Linda loves to cook and could provide a 3 course cooked meal to guests (at a reasonable cost), if you wanted a night off. (Something we only found out on our last night, much to our disappointment)!

    The setting is quiet and peaceful, but still plenty to do in the area. There are numerous lakes, outdoor activity centres and towns to visit. Quaint french markets, horse riding and local wine tasting. Cognac is also only an hours drive away.

    This has been our best Airbnb stay and would highly recommend."
